Starting Point: Khun Suranuch Boonjan, Chairperson of the Khlong Tan Community Social Enterprise for Organic Agriculture (PGS), Bang Phaeo District, Samut Sakhon Province, received the National Professional Model Award in 2021 from the Professional Foundation. The enterprise aims to elevate and add value to the agricultural products of its members, particularly fragrant coconuts, which are Geographical Indication (GI) products or products indicating Thai geography. Typically, farmers are subject to fixed coconut prices, limiting their bargaining power and sometimes resulting in insufficient income to meet the rising cost of living.
Therefore, the idea was conceived to add value to coconut products by producing coconut flower sap, which would increase income for coconut farmers and improve their quality of life. The goal is to develop products to international standards and reduce limitations. As a result, the business established Fah Ladda Co., Ltd. to serve as an intermediary for purchasing raw materials for production and distribution.
